Mike Rose says ''that he build's his argument saying that how can these students not know how to read and write.'' What made the issues of these high schools and how are they graduating. in some schools they are literate thats not the case they are underprepair in these schools.Students today don't understand learning in college is different from high school. Why aren't the teachers helping the students with their academics if they are failing? The statistics show that the numbers are the same, but one thing that is changing is that we have more students getting an education.Laura is scared cause she is not doing good in her basic writting course also she has droped her course four times. A ''quieter'' message not overtly started- rose wants us to respect the stdents who are struggling and not see them as broken. im in two minds cause the part that works when rose is talking about the students that are literate i can understand that part but the part that don't work is when rose talks about the pass years . why does people in the school system got to call these students are literate they just need extra help with their work.
